How to Calculate Your Home Electricity Bill - Electricity Bill - Electricity Bill Calculate - How to Calculating Electricity Bill 2023

Dear readers, you all are using modern technology now. One of them is the use of Current/electricity. However, if the electricity bill is more than expected, then we cannot accept it. So today I will show you how you can know how much electricity you have spent in your home by making an accurate calculation. But before calculating the electricity bill you need to learn some things.

1000W = 1KW

1kwh = 1 Unit (K x W x H = Kilo x Watt x Hour)

1HP = 746 Watts

h = time in hours

Multiply kw by time (in hours) then multiply for units.

Power, P = VIcosϕ (Single phase)

Power, P = √3VIcosϕ (Three phase)

Rules for calculating electricity bill

The type of load (load = light, fan, TV, fridge, motor etc.) we use at home or office. We usually know the load as watt, eg light 20 watt, fan 80 watt etc.

Calculation of approximate load used in home or office

★ Lights usually = 05-100 watts

★ Fan usually = 40-80 watts

★ Laptop = 20-80 watts

★ Television = 15-60 watts

★ Refrigerator = 60-220 watts

★ Iron = 300-1000 watts

★ Desktop computer = 60-300 watts

★ AC = 1000-4000 watts

★ Motor pump = 0.5 to 3 horse power

And etc., we are not saying that you use or need to use all these loads. We have tried to give you some idea by this. You need to know which load you are using between the lower and upper loads and how much its load or wattage is given.

Calculation of load

(If you want to calculate more easily without formula then go 4 lines down)

★ If any load has W written on it. The value of which here is W = Watt.

★ If 1HP is written on a load then 1HP = 746 watt, if 2HP then 2 times 746 = 1492 watt, should be calculated.

★ W should be taken as KW i.e. w should be divided by 1000 to get kilowatts.

★ Multiply Kw by time (hours) to find the unit.

Home or office electricity bill calculation (no need to know the source)

We all know that house lights, TV, fridge are as wattage, if you don't see the above formula, then you must check the wattage of lights, TV, fridge in your house.

As an example, I will show the electricity bill of a house for one month. How can the bill come in a month there?

Example: In a house 2 fans of 60 watt run for 12 hours a day, 3 lights of 32 watt run for 10 hours a day, a laptop of 50 watt runs for 6 hours a day, a fridge of 200 watt runs for 18 hours a day, and a 1HP water The lifting motor runs for 2 hours daily. Then what will be the electricity bill for the month of August if the bill price per unit is Rs.5.5.

Solution

Below is the daily calculation method

2 fans of 60 watt running for 12 hours daily = 60x2x12 =1440W

3 lights of 32 watt running for 10 hours daily = 32x3x10 =960W

1 laptop of 50 watt runs for 6 hours daily = 50x1x6 =300W

1 fridge of 200 watt runs for 18 hours daily = 200x1x18 =3600W

1HP (1hp=746) 1 water pumping motor running 2 hours daily = 746x1x2=1492W

So average wattage per day = 1440W+960W+300W+3600W+1492W=7,792W

We all know that dividing watts by 1000 gives kilowatts (kw).

So the kilowatt consumed in a day=7792÷1000=7.792kw (kilowatt)

Now we will calculate the total cost units for the entire month of August.

If August is 31 days then total unit consumption in August = 31x7.792 = 241.552kWh (unit)

5.5 per unit is given.

August electricity bill will be=241.552x5.5=1,328.536 rupees

Actuarial Account (as done by Electricity Office)

The calculation we made is the book calculation, the calculation we will see now is the actual calculation made by the electrical office.

The book calculation that we have done is fine but add some calculations from electricity office, see the details of that calculation.

Net Bill = Energy Bill + Meter Bill

Energy bill = Amount of units used in a month times price per unit

The price per unit at Desko is given in the figure below.

What we learned from the picture above

Electricity bill price for 1-50 units is Tk 3.33

Electricity bill price for 1-75 units is Tk 3.80

76-200 unit electricity bill price is Rs 5.14

But we got an average = 241.552x5.5=1,328.536 rupees.

The money added by the electricity office

Service charge = 10 rupees

Demand charge = 15 rupees

VAT = 5%

Meter Bill = Service Charge + Demand Charge = 10 + 15 = 25 Tk

Total Bill = (1,328.536 + 25)=Tk 1,353.536 {excluding VAT}

5% VAT=1,353.536 x 5%=67.6768 Tk

Meter rent 1P = 40 Tk

Then net bill = 1,353.536 + 67.6768 + 40 = 1,461.23 Tk.

Special Note: If the electricity bill is not paid on time, an additional charge of 5% will be charged on the total bill.
